• The temple was built in 1976,situated towards the southern end of Elliot’s Beach (shores of the Bay of Bengal),Besant Nagar,Chennai.

• The Eight forms (Ashtalakshmi means Eightlakshmi's) of Lakshmi's are Adhi Lakshmi,Dahirya Lakshmi,Vijaya Lakshmi,Gajalakshmi,Santhana Lakshmi,Dhanya Lakshmi,Dhana Lakshmi,Vidya Lakshmi which means, the giver of offspring,knowledge,wealth, success, prosperity,courage, bravery and food.

• The temple priests perform the rituals daily basis and also during festivals.The rituals(pooja) are performed six times a day like Suprapadham(6.30AM), Kalasandhi(8AM), Uchikalam(Noon)(12PM), Sayarakcha(6PM), Iravu Pooja(7.30PM) and Arthajama Pooja(9PM). 

• The important festivals are Navaratri(10days),Deepavali,Karthigai,Engligh/Tamil New year,Pongal.

• This temple visit will give us a unique experience includes climbing narrowed stairs and the beautiful view (from the top 2nd floor) of the beach.
